SPORTS MEDICINE
Outpatient services include examination performed by a Sports Medicine Specialist, musculoskeletal system injections and, in some cases, ESWT applications.
Treatment services are provided in the following units, which are used jointly with the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation branch:
Athlete Rehabilitation Area: There are treatment devices, exercise instruments and balance system in it.
Isokinetic Laboratory: It is the system used to measure the strength of muscle groups with numerical values, compare them and strengthen the weak muscle group as a result of analysis (Isokinetic test and exercise system).
In addition, the pool where athletes can use in-water exercises during the rehabilitation process; There is an exercise room with treadmills, exercise bikes and weight stations.
Athletes and normal individuals can apply to the Sports Medicine outpatient unit for the following subjects:
• Diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries: Anterior cruciate ligament injuries, meniscus injuries, football player's groin (osteitis pubis), tendinitis, ankle sprains, muscle injuries, tennis elbow, shoulder injuries, cartilage problems, low back and neck pain
• Rehabilitation after sports surgery (rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament, meniscus and arthroscopic shoulder surgery)
• Health checks and license examinations before participation in sports.
• Prescribing exercise in chronic diseases (obesity, diabetes, heart and respiratory system diseases)
